WHAT TO PRACTICE
BEG/INT system of the C&S Method - Using the C&S FUNDAMENTALS, TECHNIQUE & CUES plus the help of the VIDEOS, practice the entire BEG/INT system of the Climb & Spin Method. Your goal is to be as proficient as possible at each skill. Please don't worry about being "perfect". We will refine your technique when you arrive.
Fundamentals, Sets, Spin Series, Stationary Bent Arm Poses, Climbing Poses, Dance Transitions, Floor-Work, Stand-Up Series
Teaching -
repeat the teaching TECHNIQUE aloud for each skill in the BEG/INT system. This will help you practice teaching clearly and concisely
practice teaching the BEG/INT system on friends using the FUNDAMENTALS, TECHNIQUE and CUES as your guide
WHAT TO STUDY
The Fundamentals - The grips, hooks, braces and basic body positions are the foundation of our teaching method. You should know the NAME, USES & TECHNIQUE for each C&S FUNDAMENTAL.
Climbing Technique - Know the C&S FUNDAMENTALS and TECHNIQUE to climb to the top of the pole
The Sets -
Know the C&S FUNDAMENTALS & TECHNIQUE for the 5 categories of Sets (set-up/preparation for 5 categories of spins)
Integrative Anatomy -
4 primary functions of muscles
the difference between isotonic and isometric contractions
the difference between an agonist, antagonist, stabilizer & synergist
the anatomical planes of movement
the difference between each of the following movement categories: flexion, extension, lateral flexion, abduction, adduction, lateral rotation, medial rotation
examples of each movement category using C&S movement vocabulary.
Spin Series -
SET, GRIP & SPIN IMPULSE for each spin
